The great thing about templates and photobooks in My Memories Suite is that your pages are already designed for you and all you have to do is add your photos. The best part is that the pages are fully editable so you can add or delete items you do not want, rotate photo boxes or change the sizes of items. I often even add a photo box or two to suit my needs. Photobook and templates are a great way to get your albums done quickly.

Purchase & download your photobook or template from My Memories

For templates and photobooks to work in MMS they have to be purchased from the MMS store. Files are specially created to work in the software. To download you need to go to your download area in your account and choose either Windows or Mac under the My Memories category for downloads (see photo below).

  • A window will pop up that says "You have chosen to open" and it will ask you to save or cancel. Press save.
  • Now find the installer icon in your download folder on your computer (usually on your c: drive). It should look like the photo on the left. Double click on it and a window will come up to show it is installing. Depending on your security settings you may have a window pop up that asks you to allow this to make changes to your computer. Click yes.
  • A set-up window shows stating that the wizard will walk you through installation. Choose "next". When asked to select a supported application make sure "My Memories Suite" is highlighted and press "next". Press "finish" and you are done.

How to Open Your Photobook or Template in MMS

For Version 5 & up:

Picture
You  have two options. You can choose templates when you start your album or once your album is open choose "Template" from the main menuOpen your album. Click on "Insert" on the top menu bar in your program, then "Template".

You will see this box pop up (see photo) Choose your album from the list. It should be the same name as the product you bought. For example if you purchased "Little Baby Boy Photobook" look for "Little Baby Boy Photobook" in the template list.  Once you find your album make sure it is highlighted and the press the "continue" button at the bottom of the window.

Now you get to choose which pages you want in your album and if you want them added to the end of the album or after the current page. Highlight the page you want, where you want it and choose "import". If you want all the pages just highlight them all and import.

If you want to move your pages around in your album you will just grab and drag them in your album view screen. (Once they are installed into your album via the above steps.)

For Version 4 :

Open your album. Click on "Insert" on the top menu bar in your program, then "Add Other Template Pages".

You will see this box pop up (see photo) Choose your album from the list. It should be the same name as the product you bought. For example if you purchased "Little Baby Boy Photobook" look for "Little Baby Boy" in the template list.  Once you find your album make sure it is highlighted and the press the next button at the bottom of the window.

Now you get to choose which pages you want in your album and how you want them arranged. In the top row you will see all the pages available to you. These will automatically also show in the bottom row. The bottom row is what will load into your album.

REMOVE PAGES: Just click on the page in the bottom row (being sure it is highlighted) and press the "Remove" button.

ADD PAGES:
Highlight the page on the top row and click "Add Page".

ARRANGE PAGES
: Maybe you want a page that is at the end of the album at the beginning or you want two swap page 1 & 2. Just click and drag them around in the bottom row.

Once you have everything where you want it press "Next".

Adding Photos

Picture
The next step has to do with adding your photos. You have two options. Personally I always use option 1 because I am never organized enough to know exactly what photos I want in my albums.

Option 1: Pick and Click - this allows you to choose what photos you want on what pages. Once you have added your pages you will simply click on the photo boxes and choose your photos from your files on your computer.

Option 2: Fast Fill. This is great if you have your photos in order and you have a file ready to go with the photos you know you want in your albums (in other words you have deleted the ones you don't want). If you choose this option the photos will automatically go into the photo boxes so when you finish this process all the photos will be on the pages. All you will need to do is go in a tweak them a bit.
Choose your option and then press "Next". A box will pop up that says "Ready to Create Pages". Click "Finish".

Now you need to be patient as it builds the albums. This takes anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes depending on the number of pages you chose and if you used Fast Fill.

TIP: As you are working on your album you may realize you want to add a page or two. Just go over this process again choosing only the pages you want to add.

TIP: You can group items on the page and rotate them to create a whole new layout. This really stretches your stash. Just hold down your shift key and click on each item on your page. Press "Arrange" on top panel, then "Group". Now you can rotate the group around. Once you have it rotated be sure to ungroup items.

Have fun!! I have a wide variety of templates and photobook in the store you can check out here. Enjoy!
